To feel drunk

Went to South Bay with Dilys for a sunbath. Afterwards, her Spanish friends Tony and Migel came. This evening, I drank 2 bottles of beer, 1 glass of Mojito, and some 500 ml Sakei in a Japanese restaurant. This is my second time to feel a little bit drunk. With the first time being in the Oktober Fest, and I drank 2 liters of beer. That said, I don't like to drink at all, especially beer. Drinking to me is only a social activity. On the one hand, I find people are so stupid to think being able to drink a lot is an ability to be proud of. On the other hand, sometimes I drink a lot just to show a(n asian) girl can have a high tolerance, so that people don't look down upon us as a group. This is just another version of a stupid story. Moderate drinking is good to health though.

I attended a 3-days "advanced object-oriented design" course at Reuters HK delivered by this Kelvin Henney, a UK consultant. The only thing which I was thinking through the class was - if I want to be a consultant in the future... well, maybe... but not like boosting in the public...

Is there a book that would make people happy?

As title. I am looking for such a book for a friend.

A list of bad news....

1. My dutch dad has been in hospital for over 4 weeks now, his 60 year old b'day is coming soon. I only hope he will be alright.
2. My favorite ex-supervisor is separated from his wife. I still remember when he drove me home 1. 5 years ago, I told him I might work in Taiwan. When we met again last month, we were both heart-broken souls.
3. Another friend from the same town left his bf. I am sad that she gained weight after that. :p
4. A nice guy broke up with his gf yesterday. I have a new task to cheer up yet another friend, when I don't even know how to cheer up myself.
5. Another nice friend reminded me of a divorced woman in TW, both of them are very considerate. She told me sometimes the problem doesn't lie on your side. If you marry the wrong man, the marriage is doomed to failure. I'd also apply this comment to my nice friend.
6. My job will remain a boring one at least until August?! The next holiday is the mid-Autumn festival.

Direct flight between China and Taiwan

Does anyone has a clue why the flight route looks like this for a direct flight? Is the sky over the Taiwan Strait a very dangerous place to pass, or the international flight route system cannot catch up this change, or this remains a political reason?
