Meine neue Freunden und 阿柑姨芋圓

Jiu Fen auf dem Berg des Golds

Jiu Fen ist ein schönes Ort auf dem Berg. Es gibt auf den enten(?) Straßen überall leckeres Essen. Am berümtesten ist 芋圓.

Myths...

(1) a taiwanese water melon is 50% cheaper in HK than in Taipei; (2) low fat milk is cheaper than full fat milk in DE, but vice versa in HK

3rd day in Taipei

"Tofu Hua" @ Eastern District Fen Yuen

Hsinyi brought me to 誠品 and 東區粉圓. The former is so well-known, although I don't read books... and then latter is a famous shop for "DouFu Hua". The difference between HK and Taiwan Tofu Hua is: we don't add ice, red beans, 湯圓, etc., but only yellow sugar.

Yang Ming Shan

A talk on "living and traveling" by Hsinyi's piano teacher

Followed Hsinyi to her piano's teacher's talk today at Yang Ming Shan. The location is at 林語堂's residence located inside a national park, people need a special permit to drive up here.

It is a series of talk on the topic "living and traveling" by some famous artists in Taiwan. Glad that I understood the talk although it was in Mandarin... :p She told the stories of some very famous classical pianoist. What I can remember now is the travels of Bach. I read something about him at the church at Lübeck and about the Orgel class.

An interesting thing which I learnt in the museum of the residence is a "chinese typewritter", although I still haven't figured out how it works... Posted by Picasa

My Arrival in Taipei

Left HK at around noon. Took a bus from Taipei Taoyuen Airport to Taipei Train Station. Had a little bit of confusion, but finally met Herman, and he drove me to Hsinyi's place. Hsinyi's is my mother's friend's sister's daughter. I will stay at her place for 1-2 weeks before I am able to rent my own room.

Xiao Lung Bao

Hsinyi treated me a Xiao Lung Bao dinner. I remember the last last time when I was in Taipei with a tour group, we also visited this famous resturant.

It is Friday today, 2 days away from the mother's day, and that's why you can see this lighting decorations on the wall of Taipei 101. Posted by Picasa
