哎呀老豆特別 send 咗封 email 話俾我知佢個女結婚，咁我當然要識做：花咗1/4日搜羅咗橙色聖誕卡、龍鳳咕臣袋、髪簪同埋利是。哈哈、自己覺得應該都可以收貨... :D 總算解決咗其中一條難題 ...

大閘蟹和女兒紅

約了朋友吃大閘蟹，說起了朋友的感情瓜葛。男女事主我都認識的，都市人的問題真的是過份複雜。大家喝的也有一點點昏，硬著心腸沒有陪她再到酒吧喝酒，強行把她帶了回家。睡昏了的我也沒有幫上什麼忙。 早上七時老豆把我吵醒了，發現朋友己經離家。跟老豆把事情解釋了一下，又聽他說起感情往事的老豆版 *，一談便是三小時。十時我再跳上床上休息，感到昨晚和今早的經過像是夢一場。 * 註：加上猫猫版，我是家裡唯一知道完全版的人。

猫猫說... 我小時候...

• 從來不會主動要吃東西，即使別人把食物送到嘴邊，我只是會張大口，臉上更是一副十萬分不願意的樣子。
• 不愛別人摟，很愛自由。
• 因為很怕髒，很早便不會尿床。
• 免疫系統有問題，每次打放疫針都會生病。
• 因為常常生病，連站起來的力量也沒有，所以很晚才會走路。

• 每當認出回家的路，必定嚷着不要回家。

My desk@office

I begin to miss the stuff on my spacious desk, the dual LCD monitors, the Xtra on my desktop, the habour-facing office located 10-min walk from home, the jokes from a team of young colleagues, the occasionally enjoyable assignments, and what else? (This blurry picture to be replaced... :p) N.B: I have no chance to replace this blurry picture, because we are asked to remove all stuff with Reuters logo...

REU Termination strategy

[ISO/IEC PDTR 24772] Section 6.47, "REU Termination strategy," says:

When a fault is detected, there are many ways in which a system can react. The quickest and most noticeable way is to fail hard, also known as fail fast or fail stop. The reaction to a detected fault is to immediately halt the system. Alternatively, the reaction to a detected fault could be to fail soft. The system would keep working with the faults present, but the performance of the system would be degraded. Systems used in a high availability environment such as telephone switching centers, e-commerce, etc. would likely use a fail soft approach. What is actually done in a fail soft approach can vary depending on whether the system is used for safety critical or security critical purposes. For fail safe systems, such as flight controllers, traffic signals, or medical monitoring systems, there would be no effort to meet normal operational requirements, but rather to limit the damage or danger caused by the fault. A system that fails securely, such as cryptologic systems, would maintain maximum security when a fault is detected, possibly through a denial of service.

氣死自己又沒有結果的事....

整個月都在遊雲，同事們也發現了... 大概我的腦袋每天都在想同一個問題... 兩年前經常跟別人說，我要找一份常常出差的工作。現在機會降臨了，卻因工資和個人想法的改變，使我沒有了只想周遊列國的想法﹐減低了我對這份工作的渴望。現在的我只有兩件大事是佷想做的，任何不能配合大方向的事情都是浪費時間。年紀大了，不能再抱着碰碰運氣的心態，要小心考慮沒有把握的事情。 記得我剛畢業時曾經有個很利害的上司：三十出頭，柏克萊大學博士畢業，在港大高職厚薪(在沙灣徑有員工宿舍的那種)，在他的行頭是數一數二的學者，IEEE的大形會議也是他做主席的，還出了好幾本書。可是，他辭掉了港大的教職，到加州開模擬晶片制作的軟件公司，在香港僱用本地畢業生。公司的成立過程卻很不順利：還記得我跟他說要離職讀碩士，他打了個電話給我，花了個多小時勸我改變主意。那時我在想，我會願意為着自己的夢想，不顧面子的去請求一個小卒嗎？我這個沒有捱過苦的一代，就是意氣過盛，不會吃眼前虧，其實一個能達到長遠目標的人才是最後的羸家。 那麼只要問一問自己，五年之內最想做的是什麼？是要待在德國嗎？是要多拿個學位嗎？是要環遊世界嗎？是要累積連續兩年的工作經驗嗎？也許把所有想做的事情都列舉出來，再計一個 weighted sum，答案便是...。

Steuererklärung 2007

After almost 2 years, finally I have submitted my income statements after leaving DE for the whole tax reporting year. All the documents have to be translated from Chinese to German. So I learnt these strange Taiwanese terms and the German equivalents: Basis-Gehalt = 底薪 Einstellungszulage = 職務加給 Zulage für Projekte = 案子津貼 Zulage für Technologie-Management = 技術管理津貼 Fahrtkostenzulage = 交通津貼 Lebensmittel-Zulage = 伙食津貼 Abwesenheits-Abschlag = 假期減扣 Arbeitsversicherung = 勞保費 Sozialbeitrag = 福利金 geistiges Eigentum = 智慧財產 小德 helped me to proof-read and corrected my translations. As a result, I owe him some Cantonese lessons. This is DONE!!!

Pfannkuchenrezept (Passiv)

125 Gramm Mehl, ein Ei, ein Viertelliter Milch, eine Prise Salz. Fett zum Braten.

1. Das Mehl wird in eine Schüssel gegeben.
2. Eine Prise Salz wird hinzugefült.
3. Ein Ein wird dazugegeben.
4. Die Milch wird in die Schüssel gegossen. (gießen - goss - gegossen)
5. Alles wird zu einem glatten Teig verrührt.
6. Fett wird in einer Pfanne erhitzt.
7. Etwas Teig wird in die Pfanne gegossen.
8. Teig wird auf dem Boden der Pfanne verteilt.
9. Der Pfannkuchen wird nach ungefähr zwei Minuten den Pfannkuchen gewandet.
10. Die andere Seite wird gebacken.
11. Der Pfannkuchen wird aus der Pfanne genommen.
12. Der Pfannkuchen wird süß oder herzhaft gefüllt.
13. Der Pfannkuchen wird gegessen.

德國大概還是去不成

還了一個朋友們都覺得合理的價錢，跟公司給的也有相當的距離。 畢竟我也有自己的立場：不能跟人家拼工資低。 希望不會給他們留下中國人都只顧向錢看的印象。 如果目標只是要待在歐洲，也許這是個很短視的決定。 現在只好作出最壞的打算：德國大概還是去不成。
